When Left To Our Own Devices...

Our dogs spend most of their days in the back yard.  They love to lay outside in the sun and the breeze.  Unfortunately though, our back yard leaves something to be desired.  It lacks the thick, luscious, run-barefoot-through grass.  My husband is going to being working to improve that very soon, though.  In the meantime, it becomes somewhat of a mud pit when it rains.  We try to keep the dogs inside as much as we can when it's muddy, but there comes a time when the two beasts need to run and get rid of some of their energy they harbor when they're confined to the house for several days.  It's usually just their paws that need to be cleaned, and it's usually just the Golden Retriever.  She has so much hair on her paws and in between her toes that she comes close to rivaling a Clydesdale.  This is where my ingenious husband comes to the rescue.  Rather than giving the dogs a full body bath, he implements the paw dunking method.  This requires the lime green Easter egg bucket, the water hose, and of course firefighting boots.

Uh oh... busted taking pictures.  At least there's not anything he can do about it right now.

See, how the boots come in handy?  You know what else would be handy?  A spray tan.

The dog is used to this rigorous procedure by now, but she's still less than thrilled about it.

I'm pretty sure she's about to peel outta there...

but not until all the mud is hand plucked from her paws

"You get over here to this Easter egg bucket RIGHT NOW!"
