Battling Constipation

I never thought I'd be so excited over my daughter taking a poop.  The poor thing has been grunting, squirming, fussing, and turning red for a couple of days.  I gave her a little Miralax mixed in her food the other night and had no success.  Then gave her prunes last night.  She was so fussy she slept in her our bed in her Daddy's arms until 2 o'clock this morning.  Then he laid her down between us and her butt started making some noises.  I jumped up - thinking Yes!  The prunes worked!  Took her to her room to change her diaper.  It was clean, and I was so disappointed for her little tummy.  She's just kept on eating and nothing had been coming out for almost 4 days.  I knew something would have to give!  I finally decided we might have to try some suppositories.  While I was strolling through Wal-Mart today, it happened!  A pooptastrophe!  I had to get my few things and high tail it home!  She must have felt better because she went right to sleep in the cart.  When I got her home and opened up the diaper, we were bordering biological warfare.  I think it was the only time I was actually happy to clean up that big mess.  We're staying away from bananas and anything else that could contribute to constipation and hopefully this won't be a frequent problem.
