Get Here ASAP, It's Gonna Be A Par-tee

I'm super excited to be a part of an "Elite" group of mom bloggers.  It's all thanks to The D-List.  And now, starting today, this week is the official start of Blog Party 2010.  It's a great opportunity for networking and meeting fellow mom bloggers.

Without further ado, let me introduce myself to the new folks.  My name is Stephanie.  I made the transition from working woman to stay at home mom about 5 months ago.  That change was brought on by the birth of my daughter Elise.  She was born October 26, 2009.  I am married to a firefighter, but I don't like being defined as "a firefighter's wife."  I am my own person aside from the heroic job title my husband holds.  I was referred to as "Jason's wife"  "Spooner's (his nickname) girlfriend/wife" a lot in the beginning, and soon realized I appreciated being a separate entity and my own person.  My husband, Jason and I have two dogs that were our "number 1's" before Elise came along.  This is a picture of our family prior to Elise...
I started my blog as a way for distant family and friends to follow my pregnancy and keep updated on our life with Elise, but like many other mom bloggers, found comfort in connecting and communicating with moms like me, experiencing the same things as me.  It's especially comforting to have others' experiences to read about when the days are long, the baby's upset, and adult company is few and far between.  So, I started writing my blog more for myself and more for the other mom's that can relate to me.  Blogging is a good way for me to unwind and reflect on my days.

I hope you'll take a look around my blog and settle in.  Maybe you will relate to me and my experiences and will find some comfort in what I share with my readers.  So kick your shoes off, put your feet up and join the party!

  2. Over from D-Listed Blog Hop. What a precious little girl. I love the name Elise but our last name starts with a Z and my husband refuses to let our daughter's initials be E.Z.

    Nice to meet you!

  12. Hi Stephanie! Stopping by from the D-List party. You have a beautiful family...including the two furry ones! We have two golden retrievers that were around long before our human children. :-) My little guy is just a little older than Elise. I'm going to go check out some more stories about her now...
