Odds, Ends, & A New 'Do

So, I cut my hair off.  I went from this

to this

(look at those little thighs!)

It's really shorter in real life.  The day I got it cut, my friend Meghan went with me to watch Elise.  She bought some new styling tools, so while Jason was gone all night to drill we had a hair party.  I mixed up some color so she could dye my roots, and we conversed over some "Mad Housewife" wine.  We played with her new blow dryer and flat iron.  Made her hair curly and tried to style my new do. The only thing that would have made the hair party better would be if Elise had lots of hair we could fix!

On another note, my child only likes applesauce, sweet potatoes, and (loves) squash.  She has said "no" to bananas, peaches, and avocados.  Prunes are kinda iffy and apple juice is a big "Negative, Ghostrider the pattern is full."

This morning Elise woke up at 5am to eat.  I fed her, burped her, handed her back to Jason, and he put her back down in her PNP.  One minute of silence followed by the loudest "AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH"  I have ever heard come out of her little mouth.  Then another "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE."  Jason and I laid in the bed in silence listening to our child talk to herself in the dark at incredibly high decibels.  Then I'd hear a very quiet "heh heh" from Jason.  She was on a roll this morning!  Finally after a solid five minutes of discussing the world's problems, she finally had it all worked out and fell back asleep.  She has been in such a good mood today, I just wish it would have started a few hours later than 5:15am.  She has been laughing and playing in her walker.  I fed her some sweet potatoes for lunch, and she actually pushed off the floor and backed her walker up!  When she got it, her feet didn't even touch the ground.

Funny Story?  See that pink shirt I have on in those pictures above?  Yesterday the wind was blowing out of the south at 30-40 miles an hour.  Well, I don't let the wind stop me from taking Elise to the park when it's 93 degrees outside (these warm days are few and far between lately).  We headed to park yesterday afternoon and there was some guy (high school age I think) sitting in his pick-up truck facing the baby swings.  I bent down at the waist to put Elise in the swing at the exact same time a 40 mph wind gust came along and blew my shirt all the way up in the back and the front for the whole world to see.  Since I was mid-way through putting my child down, there wasn't much I could do about it.  I tried one-handedly pulling it down, tucking it in, but it was no use.  I didn't even make eye contact with the guy because I didn't want to see the look on his face.  So, you're welcome little high school boy for a free peep show at the neighborhood park.
