We Bought Baby Furniture

Last night Jason and I went to Babies R Us to look at their furniture. They had some on sale that we really liked that would match the armoire we already have. We ended up getting a crib and dresser. They are both solid pine and the girl that helped us gave us an extra 15% off each piece of furniture and the conversion kit. They had the crib in stock but had to order the dresser/combo unit. I'm going to put a changing pad on the dresser so it will serve 2 purposes. It should be at the store in a week or two. All of it might have to sit at the store until we can get the room closer to being ready or clear out a place for it. We didn't worry about getting a matress yet. We have plenty of time to do that. Once we get the bedding Jason is going to start painting the room. Then he will put up crown molding and base boards. It looks like things are falling into place, and it's one less thing we have to worry about later. I took some pictures of the floor model furniture but the lighting doesn't do it justice.

On the way home from Amarillo we had to stop at the fire station to get some keys to Jason's truck because he locked his in his work truck. While we were there he grabbed a stethoscope for me to see if I could hear anything in my belly. Before I went to sleep I laid in bed listening and I thought I heard something in one spot kind of on the right side. Jason said he couldn't hear anything so maybe it was just my stomach gurgling.

Jason started taking a class online that his new fire chief has signed him up for. It's for him to get his fire inspector's license. He reads and then takes chapter tests online. He is supposed to go down to Dallas for a written test in November for a couple of days. I think he told me the dates were the 2nd and 3rd. That will be cutting it close to the baby's due date, so he better hope the baby doesn't come early! I think he told me if he finished everything online before then that he might be able to take the written test earlier than that, which would probably be a better idea.
