We Bought Baby Furniture

Last night Jason and I went to Babies R Us to look at their furniture. They had some on sale that we really liked that would match the armoire we already have. We ended up getting a crib and dresser. They are both solid pine and the girl that helped us gave us an extra 15% off each piece of furniture and the conversion kit. They had the crib in stock but had to order the dresser/combo unit. I'm going to put a changing pad on the dresser so it will serve 2 purposes. It should be at the store in a week or two. All of it might have to sit at the store until we can get the room closer to being ready or clear out a place for it. We didn't worry about getting a matress yet. We have plenty of time to do that. Once we get the bedding Jason is going to start painting the room. Then he will put up crown molding and base boards. It looks like things are falling into place, and it's one less thing we have to worry about later. I took some pictures of the floor model furniture but the lighting doesn't do it justice.

On the way home from Amarillo we had to stop at the fire station to get some keys to Jason's truck because he locked his in his work truck. While we were there he grabbed a stethoscope for me to see if I could hear anything in my belly. Before I went to sleep I laid in bed listening and I thought I heard something in one spot kind of on the right side. Jason said he couldn't hear anything so maybe it was just my stomach gurgling.

Jason started taking a class online that his new fire chief has signed him up for. It's for him to get his fire inspector's license. He reads and then takes chapter tests online. He is supposed to go down to Dallas for a written test in November for a couple of days. I think he told me the dates were the 2nd and 3rd. That will be cutting it close to the baby's due date, so he better hope the baby doesn't come early! I think he told me if he finished everything online before then that he might be able to take the written test earlier than that, which would probably be a better idea.

16 Week Doctor Appointment

Jason, Lori, and I all went to the my doctor's appointment today. It turns out that I have already gained a whopping 6 pounds since the last time I was there. We listened to the heart beat again today with the hand held doppler. This time it was 155 bpm. Dr. Appel said it would slow down each time we come in. Last time it was 170bpm. We heard the baby kicking again today. She said within the next couple of weeks I should be able to start feeling little flutters when the baby moves. My next appointment is June 24th. At that one, I will have a sonogram first and then see the doctor. She said they will determine the gender and get some measurements and information from the ultrasound. I will be able to find out whether it's a boy or a girl right before the family reunion in Missouri. I finished up at the doctor's office with some blood work and that was it. I have 4 more weeks of waiting!

Jason has nearly finished the spare bedroom. All he is lacking are the two doors. I will post some pictures soon. I found some bedding that I like for the baby's room so maybe Jason can get started in there painting, etc. when he's ready to take on another project. Here's a picture of the bedding. They have it at JCPenny's but I found another website that has a lot more accessories. I added it to the sidebar of my blog if anyone wants to see a bigger picture.

Addi's WT Shirt

Jason found this shirt at the WT store and insisted we get it for Addison. I know they aren't Aggie fans, but it just so happens that the West Texas A&M mascot is the buffalo, so maybe her daddy will forgive her. I stole these pictures from Melissa because I just had to post them on my blog also!

What A Rough Life!

This is what goes on every morning while I'm up early getting ready for work. These three are being lazy... really living a tough life!

Got A New Digital Camera!

I had the afternoon off today since I had a couple of appointments. I went to my family doctor since she wanted to follow up with me to see if my asthma had improved with the new inhaler. I seem to be doing better. Then I had a routine teeth cleaning at the dentist. Looks like I lost a little weight since I was at the doctor's office a couple weeks ago. I can't imagine why. I've been craving Wendy's and ate it for lunch yesterday and today. Hopefully I got that out of my system....I'm not really a big fan of Wendy's. One of Jason's friends wants to meet us tomorrow in Amarillo at the Olive Garden for dinner. I am so excited! Well, Jason bought me a new digital camera at Wal-Mart this evening so I will humor ya'll with some new pictures. I'm 15 weeks today and my next OB appointment is next Wednesday. Be sure to note my awesome new green camera in the pictures!

It's Been A While...

I haven't updated in a while. I have intended to, but I wanted to post some recent pictures and have discovered that our digital camera is broken. I thought it was just the batteries, but I put new ones in and it just won't turn on. So just something else to spend money on....the story of our lives. It's always something. Jason's planning on painting the room that used to be the computer room, putting up new doors, base boards and crown molding this weekend. It will be the new guest room, so that the guest room can be made into the baby's room. It will be more convenient to have that room for the baby because it's right across from our bedroom.

Now that I'm into the 2nd Trimester, I'm feeling a little better throughout the day. My next OB appointment is the 27th of this month. At that appointment we will schedule the sonogram appointment that's in June. Aunt Debbie made me an appointment at Stork Vision in Tyler on Saturday, August 1st at 10am. I'm really excited that the whole family will be in town for Leslie's baby shower so whoever wants to come see our baby on the big screen is welcome to! Hopefully I can afford a digital camera soon to get some pictures up.
